If the skilled operator has to ask his boss what to do on such a basic action, then I think they needs to get a new operator.

This is more a critique on the operator not making a decision he is responsible for than what management is doing.

Fortunately it leaves out the panel where your boss yells at you for following directions. You're supposed to be a magician and make cyan dry at that density. Duh!
