Below are what we typically see used in each of the categories you listed. I wouldn't say these are right or wrong because everyone has their own approach to what dot works best. It is important to note that the description or label used to describe a dot may not always match up with the correct dot. In other words some people say round dot even though they may be referring to an elliptical dot.

1. Screen Printing: Round
2. Offset Printing: Euclidean
3. Flexo: Elliptical
4. Gravure: Elliptical

To help clarify which dot shapes I have referred to above, you can view previews and growth structure for the standard AM screen sets included in the Harlequin RIP on the following page:
Harlequin Precision Screening in the RTI Harlequin RIP Separation Software

Other RIPs or workflows may have different AM screen descriptions so you would have to compare their dot shapes to the ones listed above.

1. Screen Printing - round
2. Offset Printing - round
3. Flexo - round This is a "FIRST" specification rather than a choice
4. Gravure I don't know

Here is a link to the various dot shapes and their rational.
