its the start signal is all i need. I was wondering if the dc 10000s could send the start signal. I have a tower sourced but it will be 2 to 3 weeks before I can collect it. I know there is a basic plate for the 4000 system that just has a start stop button. You need the start signal from the collator to start the booklet maker. Also the booklet maker gets info from the tower to adjust for the job being run. Ie sheet count. I think the 10,000 is too old.
IF you can start the booklet maker you could run the tower to feed into it as a separate machine. NO communication between them but it might work.
