Duplo DC-616 ... anyone know how to repair them?

I had a paper jam that I just couldn't clear with tweezers, dental floss, whatever in slitter 3, so I took the machine apart. I got it back together and now have a slitter 3 lock error.

The gears are grinding, not turning, and i'm wondering where I went wrong. Mechanically, I think i have all the pieces back in their proper place 🙃

I don't have a 616, I have a 618 - but assuming their creaser modules are similar (looks that way from photos), I would recommend checking the creasing module and reseating it. It's driven by an eccentric cam that will lock up if not put in in the same position you took it out. Also check the springs in the same area that bounce back when the cam triggers the crease. I had a really bad jam one time that bent those springs and gave me a similar error. I ended up removing the springs (they're just sitting in there loose to provide release pressure) and bending them back into a usable position using a vicegrip and some pliers.

thank you so much! I'll look at the creaser and springs

So you took it apart? Like the heads out from the machine? If you did then the long worm screws should turn to move each head from the middle to the edge. Once at the edge it should trip the home sensor. Those shafts should turn freely. Its like the 618 but those modules come out where the 618 dont. What a great upgrade Duplo!!! They act the same as the heads must move to the edge/home then start out. Keep us informed

by "heads", do you mean the slitters? If so, yes, I removed the four rods, pulled Slitter 3, cleared the jam, reinstalled.

technician (shout out to Nate!) was just here. He explained that I inserted the top guide rail too forcefully -and- not 'level' enough and damaged the ball bearing inserts, so there was no way for me to repair it at that point. He has to order new ones overnight. So, next time I have to remove a slitter, I'll know better :)
