Electra XD processor conductivity

Can anyone running the thermal gold or electra XD plates tell me what they hold their conductivity at on their processor? We just installed a new processor and switched to the electra plate and our conductivity keeps dropping. I have adjusted the replenish rate but it's already sucking the jugs down pretty quick.

At what conductivity does yours hold at and at what reading does it start to show backgrounds not burning out properly?

I was told below 78 was bad. I can't keep the level above 80 very easily. Out of the jug, brand new chemistry starts at 85 and just drops continuously.

Longlimb, the conductivity of the Goldstar Premium Developer should be around 85 -87. Since there is not a separate regenerator the conductivity will drop on the dev but will reach a stable point, if in fact the regenerator rates and antiox are set properly.

To help you set the replenishment rates properly we will need to know more details like plate sizes, how many plates per day you are processing and the frequency that plates are being processed. If you are not putting plates through the system frequently and the system sits idle for long periods of time the conductivity change could be from the antiox setting being either turned off or set improperly.

I would recommend that you contact your local Printing Applications Specialist (PAS) that installed the system or call the Kodak Plate Service Center at 888-996-5877. Either way they can support you properly and get you back on a successful path.

That is most likely not a good thing, but with out knowing the specifics it is hard to say where your final number will fall. Please call the Kodak Plate Service Center at 888-996-5877 and they will help you to set the system to your needs. If for some reason this does not work, please contact me with a direct email and I will work with you to get everything worked out.

Hi Longlimb,
We have been running that plate for a while now and after a fresh change the chemistry starts to drop into the mid 70's within a few days. I have been told that the latitude of this plate is quite wide and have not had any negative effects from this PH level. We are pretty careful about plate consistency and quality and are really happy with how the plate is performing.
Word to the wise however - when the processor was installed the techs were very new in working with this processor and plate and set several of the replenishment controls incorrectly. I went through tons of chemistry and several service calls until things got straightened out.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Dazen. That's what I have found as well. The tech's are very helpful but they even said this is new to them. That's why I went here to see what others are doing. I appreciate the input.
