Re: ePace
Personally, I don't ever list negotiated prices. I don't think it's fair to the vendor, and can be misleading for a number of reasons. I am NOT trying to start a flame war, I just wanted to put in my plug for Pace Systems Group and ePace.
I spent a substantial amount of time researching MIS systems, and ultimately chose ePace for our shop. It's a decision that I still support today. We purchased about a year and a half ago or so. Our system is very complete with the exception of data collection terminals for the shop employees. (Don't get me started on that one!) Like I said, very complete with Integrated GL, AR, AP, Estimating, Production, Purchasing, Reporting, Inventory, Shipping, and Customer facing tools. Our purchase price including the hardware was considerably less then the price listed in the previous post.
That being said, Pace has a number of options that we opted not to purchase initially. They license their API, integrate with a number of third party vendors, offer integrated CRM, JDF, and a number of other customization products. So, I could easily spec a system that costs $80,000. But the fact is that the base ePace system is very powerful and has a a lot of modules included. I tried to compare apples to apples and get comparably equipped system quotes - and Pace was the leader in price, options, and support pricing. It is also the most flexible system that I have come across to this day.
I don't work for Pace, so I really don't have much incentive for promoting them. (Although a free ride to the users conference this year would be nice....< wink > )
One last thing, and I'll shut up.
One day last year, we had an issue with one of the drives in our server. I opened a call to support around 3pm. I spent the better part of an hour on the phone, and the problem could not be resolved. So now it's after 4pm. I had a new server delivered by 8am the next morning that was pre-configured for our company, and we just had to perform a data restore and we were back up and running by 10am. Now that's service!
