epson 10600 waste ink pads?

I have a maintenance message flashing .001

From looking online it seems like the waste ink pads need replacing very soon. I cant find anything about this online other then calling Epson to come and service the machine.

Is this something I can service myself fairly easily? If so, where can I find waste ink pads for the 10600 Ultrachrome?

I'm in the same boat. Got a quote from a tech for $170 for pads, $230 for pump and cap assbly (if needed) plus labor.
Does not look like a do it your self job.
