Epson 9800 printing BLANK

Printeresting

New member
I have an Epson stylus pro 9800 which is used infrequently (date says 2006 on back).

It had been producing images with an unwanted greenish tone.

Now, it is printing blank.
I have done 2 deep cleans and printed a nozzle check.
ALL BLANK.

I believe it may have a build up of dirt on the print heads.
Is there a way to manually clean this?

Thanks.

Hi, There is a way - you'd have to take a printhead out. So you know, printed physically wipes the head every so often and normally surface of the heads is ink repellant and it is really rare for OEM EPSON inks to dry and clog all of the nozzels of all of the heads. Chances are slim to none. Inside the printhead there is a suction pump that pull inks out of cartridges VIA tube-lines. That it the only thing that is common for all of the printheads at once. I would imagine if that is not working properly it will print blank and the same time inks are where they're suppose to be, printed detecting it and not showing any errors. Problem should be mechanical.

I would imagine if you had the printer standing for really long time and inks had crystallized in one of the internal tanks inside of the printhead, it will prevent pump from moving. Bottom line - most likely you will need whole printhead assembly.
