Esko Automation Alternatives?

Hi Folks, I don't have any kind of beef with Esko and Switch automation.
I had a system built years ago, and we automated the majority of pre-press from files uploaded to the website.

I'm based in the UK, and just exploring what options are out there now?

I'm a glutton for punishment, but I'm looking to work with a lot more CANVA users, who do their best to create print ready artwork, but fail miserably.

I'd love to run some automated scrutiny of uploaded files, pre-flight, the automation of fixes, then send proof of the fixed artwork for approval before printing.
plus a few other things.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

Tim

Enfocus switch. It is still esko though. That's your flow orchestrator

Pitstop server will do all your pdf automations.
You can use Callas pdf toolbox which has a server version too that you can use in switch.

There's also one vision which is suppose to be good.

Thing is with canva. It does output fine files.
It's when users don't export them correctly.

Callas pdf toolbox does some really neat checks and validation

Hey, would mention that PitStop has a built-in Preflight Profile for CANVA files. Indeed, you can always expect that most of users won't get files right out of CANVA inspite the many guidelines that exist for good export.

There are no ready-made solutions for all occasions. And it is quite difficult to fully automate pdf verification and editing. A black box can be made, but there will be a marriage at the exit from time to time. The Esko AE + AP+ kit is enough to automatically fix many problems, but with mandatory approval by the customer. It seems the most difficult point is the black and composite color in the objects.
