fingerprinting standard

good morning experts
after reading some notes how to color manage and do finger printing, i came to a hesitation in one step. please help.

1. i produce linear plate or print linear. read the gradation scale and measure the tone value increase.
2. apply compensation curve, then print again until i get a good tvi value matching the aim value of iso 12647-2.
3. my question is if i include the it8 or eci chart in the compensated plates, will i use the original file or allow the compensated test chart to print? will i measure the linear or compensated test charts?

thanks

You don't need this step - delete it:
"1. i produce linear plate or print linear. read the gradation scale and measure the tone value increase."

Instead start by confirming the your print condition is consistent, and repeatable and free of mechanical issues like slur, doubling, over-emulsification etc.

thnx sir. how about creation of the profile, will it be compensated or just the linear file?

The IT8 or similar charts should be printed only with the TVI compensation (no further manipulation).

And if you have already linearized your plates/CTP it's NOT an issue.

"To Be or Not To Be"
There are some great debates on this forum, that go back many years, about to use Linear or Raw plates.
Not trying to change the topic but a similar debate is should I dress my press with brand new blankets or as is condition blankets.
