Getting a load of "Desktop-x-x"

every time I browse I get a downloaded file called "desktop-x-x" (where ex is an incremental number)
Don't know if this has to do with the latest Safari update…Â*or if you have updated on site? Am I the only one?

Samething here also. But it's ONLY at PrintPlanet and at no other site. What the heck is going on?????????

Safari Version 4.0.3 (4531.9)

I am getting a Desktop-x-x.Doc file in the Users directory, and a "Desktop-x" Folder in the User directory.

I am now writing from the home computer with Safari Version 4.0.2 (4530.19). It's not happening at this computer, at least not with this version of Safari.

I am back at the work computer. The issue is still occurring. An archive of 2 of these files is attached.

On another computer here running Safari 4.0.2 it does not occur. Both of these machines are on OS 10.4.11.

Yes that Apple support link is describing the exact issue. The machine I am seeing this on is on Tiger with Safari 4.0.3 as I reported earlier.

Al

I have quit Safari 4.0.3, and launched Version 3.0.4 (523.12) on another drive on the same machine. The issue continues.

thanks Al. I can't get this to reproduce on our end..using 10.5. It appears it's something to do with a javascript or safari update that apple has issued. We have changed nothing on the site recently.

Monday 8/31/09: the problem has stopped without my doing anything.

Have Lukas and Marko found likewise???

Al

Edit: Cory, did you do anything to fix it on your end? I noticed that I had to re log in today, which usually I do not.

This problem has re started again today. I had shut down the mac to remove a SCSI device, and noticed the problem after I restarted the mac and came to this web site. Otherwise I have not seen the problem for almost a month.

As before, one of these files and folders is created each time I surf from one location to another on the PrintPlanet site. It does NOT occur on any other site.

Anyone else?

Al

EDIT: Since reporting that the problem had stopped earlier this month, I have restarted the mac many times, so I doubt that this has anything to do with it. Likewise for connecting/disconnecting SCSI devices. I posted messages yesterday in two separate threads on this site, but the problem only started up this morning.

Once again, the problem has gone away without my doing anything at all (it was there Friday at end of the day).

So, either Cory fixed something at PrintPlanet, or Apple did something via it's Crone scripts over the weekend.
