getting new conductivity meter - unit of measurement?

well, our miron L kicked the bucket. cant seem to convince the prod. manager to get another one as he sees the analogue guage as "primitive and outdated" so we are going to get a newer digital all in one ph/cond/tds unit.

my question is, our old miron L measured in micromhos, and the new one measures in micro-seimens. aside from the unit of measurement, do the measured numbers mean the same thing or are they going to be different?

if my miron reads 1600 with a sample, will my new unit read 1600 as well?

thanks in advance

mhos and siemens are the same. Conductance is the inverse of resistance so 1000 ohms of resistance equals 1000 mico mhos. Get it ohm spelled backwards is mhos? I think the guy the discovered conductance was Siemens and later someone clever decided to call it mhos.
