Glue dispenser

I make jigsaw puzzles. The part of the process I'd like advice on pertains to gluing the paper displaying the photo onto a 16"x20" cardboard backing. I buy the white glue from Daige and apply it to the cardboard with a small roller. I'm very pleased with the quality of the outcome but the process is time consuming. I have a glue application machine which I purchased from Daige as well but it hasn't worked to my satisfaction. Is anyone aware of an application method that would apply a thin even coat onto the cardboard and save some time? Perhaps someone can direct me to an earlier thread if you know of one. Thanks in advance!
