AFAIK you can input the special key combination to enter the configuration menu and change parameters or disable the heat section. Not sure if it can be disabled in all firmware versions. Look for the MPT control panel user guide for more info. You may also want to either plug the water prewash hose, disconnect the water solenoid going to the prewash circuit or disable the prewash function entirely if possible. Remove the prewash brush if it still exists, keep the bottom roller in place to help the plate pass towards dev section. If using positive plates which don't require brushes in developer you can remove the first brush (leave the bottom rollers in place) and raise the second brush to maximum to help the plate on its correct path and prevent jams.
I converted the polymer raptor to thermal,I removed the preheat, prewash sections, disabled them in the service menu, but I don't remember if I changed the developer type.
