Can you say something about screened spot colors? How is ProofMaster about them?
Hi Dario,

if you want to know, can ProofMaster generate screened proofs? The answer is no, but you will get perfect certified color proofs according to Ugra/Fogra ISO-Standards & CxF-based Spot color proofing.
My recommendation for screened proofs incl. Spot colors is StudioRIP XF Inkjet Edition. For further details, contact me directly.

Hi Martin,
sorry, my bad - I was referring to the "new" SCTV ISO 20654:2017

Just to clarify my response to Mr Jahn ("and 'some' people want dots ( not me )")...
A (contract) proof isn't just for color. One of its key functions is to assign liability if the presswork does not align with the proof.
If you are printing with an AM/XM halftone and you are only proofing for color then you may incur liability for the job if there is, for example, screening or subject moiré in the presswork that is not predicted/simulated in the proof. If your presswork is FM/stochastic screened then proofing for color only is not an issue.
yes, and the way star proof works is you rip ( using the same rip that is used to make the plates ) to 1 bit tiffs - then - using the same 1 bit tiffs you will use to make the plates, you send these tiffs to star proof which them images them. so, assuming your proofing system has the same resolution of your plating system, then, you have a dot proof that looks like the press sheet - IMPORTANT data point here - if you are concerned about spot color simulation - welp, there are not very many "spot colors" that are screened, so, the "proof" is nice ( as star proof does a wonderful job setting up you proof printing system to simulate Pantone colors. I do not sell Star Proof nor do i use one ( these days )
