I'm heading out tomorrow. If there is anything specific you want info on, let me know and I will try and swing by the booth. Fuji will have the J press on the floor (and operational) this show, interested in seeing that.

Hi Cory,
I'm more interested in the "feel" of the show - upbeat, downbeat, neutral, sense of attendance, the fuzzy stuff - especially compared with last year.
Unfortunately one of my favorite vendors - Caprock Developments - doesn't have a booth at the show this year (where else can you still buy halftone screens for process cameras or mechanical screens for flat tone film stripping?). :-(

i will be happy to give my impressions tomorrow night. half tone. who shoots half tones anymore. we recycled our camera 5 years ago. had not shot a peice of film for 5 years before that. but those old screen where handy for demonstrating moire to the tours coming through.

the show looked about the same as last year to me. of course no heidelberg. the most impressive thing to me was the presstek 75 di. they did 4 jobs while i was in the booth. of course none of them really impressive. and all on 100# gloss text. they where running at a blazing 11,000 iph. but for decent work quickly wow. turn it on throw ink in it and go. 5 jobs and hour. now all you need is $1,000,000 and some work for it.
not new but I watched a few cutter demos. did you know the saber had automatic blade adjustment. with manual setting on the touch screen. no more turning the turnbuckle or adjustment handles with a wrench.

So your feeling was that attendance was about the same? Was there very much interest in the inkjet/thermal? Was the mood upbeat, people buying. Or just wandering around?
Could you post a few snaps?

some booths said they thought it was going better this year. others said it was about the same. the uv coaters were selling well. hp was busy all day kodak looked busy. screen looked busy. efi looked busy but the rep I talked with said it was slower than last year. a fair amount of traffic in the mailling area. I never checked out the canon booth. epson had a nice booth not real busy. ricoh had a bunch of equipment. nice traffic rollem looked slow the times I went by. there was very little traffic at the small booths at the back.

here are some photos the one is indicative of the slow areas. not every place was this slow. the other was the fish made of plates at the kodak booth. I thought the fish was neat. sorry about the blurry pix. my htc evo requires a steady hand. I did not think of going to the mezzanine to snap an overall photo. stuck with the food on the main floor. big seating area this time

Overall the show is quite a bit smaller Sq. Footage wide from last year.. I believe there are only two offset presses on the whole floor (a few smaller duplicators). Traffic on Sunday was slow, but that is normal. Both Monday and Tuesday it's been much heavier.
Fuji is running the J Press, but only a few times a day, they are keeping it behind a curtain between demos. Not handing out print Samples.

Few pics from the mezzanine and the floor using my camera phone, from Sunday around 3pm. Pretty well attended that day though it petered out as the football games got underway. I thought things felt more upbeat and many folks were attending the presentations. Among the presses and such was alot of interesting finishing gear and a very healthy mix of traditional and digital printing gizmos.

What I meant was were QR codes being used by the exhibitors themselves to market their goods to attendees?

Saw a few places using qr codes..unfortunately a lot of them dumped you into a site that wasn't optimized for mobile.
