Head alignment on Epson 9800 or any wide format inkjet printer

Do you have to do head alignment on the whole length of the printer or a simple A4 size will do just fine?

Do you have to do head alignment on the whole length of the printer or a simple A4 size will do just fine?

I believe the Epson on does the head alignment in the first couple inches. I don't think there is even an option to run one the full length.
