hi again, also on the list, i have a problem getting a 2 colour pm's z (intermediate) roller to contact at the setting phase. unit 2 sets and inks up fine, unit 1 wont contact at all. Its getting ink via the form damper contact only, not through intrgrating to the white forme.
I have tried all adjustments, and i cant get contact to get the stripe, when pushing damper on button.
It does however, seem to contact when impression is thrown on. It seems to go through a couple of phases, drops down for a few revs, up, down again? not too sure. All i know is the other deck i could set to 4mm without a problem.
Roller is very unlikely to be undersize, but i havent measured it yet.
So what could cause this??

Apart from the undersize roller , there is an adjustment of the z roller to the white inker via a 13mm nut at the end of a spring ( just above the ends of the z roller each side near the side frame )

Hi spigot just read the thread about setting the intermediate roller, is it manually operated or does it activate via the console and then a valve puts it in the desired position while printing, if operated by the console you may have to engage it before setting. If its manual are any of the parts worn or inhibited by dried ink . what year machine is it?. get a set of calipers and check the measurements of the roller according to the roller specification.
