Hi print community,

I would like to get your opinion on the following:

HeidelbergCX 104-6 LX
ManrolandNew Roland 706 3B LV EVOLUTION
KBARapida 105-6+L SAPC ALV2
KomoriKomori G 640+C ADVANCE

Which of the following presses would you purchase and why?

We are a folding box carton company focussing on FMCG (Cosmetics, Food, Liqour industries).
Average run lengths: 10 000 sheets
Board specifications: 250 gsm - 500 gsm
Colour specifications: 75% of work is CMYK + 1/2 spot colours

Pricing: All pricing is fairly similar except the Heidelberg option is 15% higher.

All press options is hybrid presses, because we need a UV and conventional ink option for our client base.

TIA

For a Packaging printer I would really recommend the KBA.they can handle a wide range of stocks. of course the other presses are very good too but after doing a pretty detailed audit we decided on KBA and have not been disappointed. Just my opinion.

It's great to be in a position where you can evaluate this level of equipment and make strategic purchasing decisions. I’d recommend sitting down with your pressroom team to review key production factors, like coating systems, plate change time, and which onboard technologies are a top priority for your workflow.

If you're in a position to acquire fully equipped machines with all the available features, that’s ideal. We're talking about automated plate changing, infeed/outfeed pile logistics, AI-driven features, and other capabilities that can significantly improve daily productivity.

It’s also wise to look into your regional market and assess which manufacturer offers the strongest local technical support, both in terms of expertise and parts availability.

I will exclusively recommend Heidelberg Press to packaging customers because of its Prinect workflow, which enhances packaging project preparation through digital proofing, folding box layout, color management system, and press integration.

having experienced all presses, top will be heidel then komori. roland is great but needs work place compatibility - too hot/humid tends to create issues. kba good for larger format.
also, include in your qualification after sales support
