Hello all,

Im work on a medical company and we prints labels for all of our products, we print on one side and the size is almost a letter sheet.

We use 2 colors one each label, with this our users can identify our products, we have 6 HP 5550 with toner with yield of 12000 prints with a total cost 0.1047 dlls per print.( i calculate all consumables).

We are searching for a high volume color printer that have a cheaper printing cost.

Please advice, im looking on a Xerox Pharse 7760, but i don't know if there is another options.

for each printer we have 30,000 prints at month.

Thanks for your help

Hello,

Here i have my actual printer:

Printer HP 5550 (actual)

Consumable Yield Cost Print cost
Black toner 13000 234.99 0.018076
Cyan toner 12000 324.99 0.027083
Magenta toner 12000 324.99 0.027083
Yellow toner 12000 324.99 0.027083
Fuser 150000 340 0.002267
Transfer 120000 379 0.003158
Total 0.1047

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The printing cost is half but this printer is costly i think is about 30,000 dlls

Printer Xerox 550

Consumable Yield Cost Print cost
Black toner 30000 232 0.007733
Cyan toner 34000 465 0.013676
Magenta toner 34000 465 0.013676
Yellow toner 34000 465 0.013676
Total 0.0488
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you know what other printer has cheaper printing cost?

i see you recommend me ink based printing, is cheaper than laser?

Thanks!!

you have to take all the variables into account in the equation.

You said you have 6 printers doing 30k each, that's 180k prints @ $0.1047, that's $18,846 a month you are spending in consumables.

Let's say the cost to print color on the Xerox 500 is $0.049, times 180k prints, that's $8,820. Your monthly savings is around $10,000! I'm 100% sure that the Xerox 550 on a lease will not be $10k a month. Probably not even 6 Xerox 550s will be $10k a month (depending on configurations).

The Xerox ColorQube uses solid ink technology, it has 3 tier pricing for color printing, where your cost depends on how much color you print on the page. I just mentioned it because I've seen companies printing labels where the amount of color used is very small and the savings are much higher.

Hello,

Here its some examples of labels

We don't use much color so i think the printers can print more than yield numbers.

Then what do you recommend me? go for Xerox 550? we first will try one and if it works we will get more.

i see Konica have high volumen printers and i dont know who is better Xerox or Konica.

Please advice.

Hello,

i see Colorqube supplies and the saving are most than Xerox 550.

HP 5550 0.1047 for 180K =$18,846 dlls
Xerox 550 0.0488 for 180k = $8,784 dlls
Xerox ColorQube 0.0285 for 180K = $5,130 dlls

with Xerox ColorQube i will save $13,716 dlls per month and its appear this printer is cheaper than Xerox 550.

The numbers tell me the better option is ColorQube, my only concerns if this printer is recommended for high volume printing, what about maintenance?

Please advice.

PD. on a past post i show you the labels examples, we use a little color on each label.

Thanks

One Xerox 550 or one Xerox ColorQube won't be able to handle 180k prints a month.

I suggest leasing a machine that includes maintenance; you will pay a cost per impression.

I suggest you can contact Xerox so your application can be tested. Xerox can help you analyze your TCO and give you alternatives.

OK,

I can make the analysis with one printer with 30,000 prints per month, anyway i must start with leasing one.

I contact Xerox people and they will send me a quotation, but i want to have a second opinion on printing options since suppliers like Xerox or Konica will tell you only the good side.

What will be your advice? ColorQube?

Thanks!!

I really think you need to get in touch with a Xerox rep to test your application. Once tested, it can be determined how much will it cost on either the Xerox 550 or Xerox ColorQube. If the ColorQube has a lower cost per print based on your color coverage, need to make sure that the solid ink will work fine with the labels you are using.

Hello,

I contact Xerox people, and they recommend me a workcentre 7556.

Workcentre 7556 .0622 per page. @30K= $1,866 dlls.
VS
HP 5550 0.1047 for 30K = $3,141 dlls

this is a $1,275 dlls saving per month on one printer.

Xerox wants to sell me this printer on 14K dlls.

Its a good deal?

Thanks
