How do I check if my machine is running the latest firmware?

The information I've found so far is
BIOS: U-Boot-1.0.0
OS: TimeSys Linux-4.0

(I've been unable to find the "Thick BK mode" described in ubertechs tipbook, but that might be because my menus are in swedish and the translations aren't always top notch)
