HP Indigo Press Performance Tuning Service

We have an HP Indigo 7900 press. It's about 5 years old. We have been on a maintenance plan since the press was new. One press operator is Level 1 trained and the other is Level 2 trained. We are having a lot of random issues lately. Our HP service manager has suggested that we consider taking advantage of their Indigo Press Performance Tuning Service where a technician will "thoroughly inspect, adjust, clean, and replace specific components that are critical to keeping the press running." The press would be down about a day and a half. The cost is $3,400 for a single visit or $10,200 for a year of quarterly visits.

Have any of you had this done? Did it help any? Is it worth the money? Your opinions please ...

Hello, cannot say we have had this service done on the indigos at our shop but I am curious as to what issues you would be having that are not being covered by you service contract from HP? We replaced a 7600 and 7800 a little over a year ago with 2 7ks. My shop had those for about 8 or so years I believe but I do not remember hearing about a performance tuning service.
