Hello Folks,
We have had a HP3050 for many years and a HP1000 before that. Our new HP5600 just got installed this week.
We have the option to add a "HP SmartStream IN050 Labels and Packaging Server, Powered by Esko Colour Kit"
So my question is, do we really need one?
Now I love the Esko Colour Kit but we share work with three sister companies and only one has it as well. Unless all the sites have it, I cannot see how it helps us.
All 50% of our work is fully automated so the only issue for the operators is:
- Having to wait to RIP 4000 sheets of PDF/VT on his HP5600 in-built RIP.
- Entering Sheet Quantities for jobs with no JDF ticket. (because all the sheet quantities are different (Page 1 = 340 sheets / Page 2 = 112 sheets / Page 3 = 43 sheets)
What can the server bring to the party?
