Hp1050 moving to an hp1100-rip upgrade needed?

Hello,

I have a customer who has an HP1050 proofer and is using a C color rip. It's 3-4 yrs old and it's down. Client is looking to buy an 44" HP1100 proofer. Will the C color rip be compatible with the 1100 or will they need to upgrade to the Newscolor Rip? Any suggestions? They are a smaller commercial account that does alot of color work. They depend quite heavily on producing physical proofs vs online proofs.

ps. Have a call in to newscolor but really would like your guys point of view/advice.

Client will purchase the 1100 and the upgrade to the 5.0 rip version.
(c color/newscolor) same thing essentially.
