Hello Printing World,

I've been reading Print Planet for a couple of years now, and thought I should throw in how we do things up here in Canada.

I live in Toronto, Ontario and I'm running a (get this) a Solna 425.
Yup, you read that right,,,SOLNA425,,,

This machine has no console, so every thing is done with a Macbeth Densitometer. I know it's the hard way of doing things, but I first started with this company running the Heidelberg 64 and doing process work one color at a time, so having the 4 color is a lot easier.

In the province of Ontario, I only know of 2 Solna operators, and I happen to be one of them, so if anybody has questions feel free to ask. My best friend happens to be the only Solna mechanica and was trained in Sweden which is where the press comes from, but I do most of the maintenance on this press.

The press is set up to European standards so the max sheet size WAS 18" x 25", but if found a way to get it to run 19X25.

If anybody out there wants to know how I did it, send me an email and I'll explain it to you.

In closing, I have to thank the guys who started Print Planet as as well as everybody out there as II spend most of my free time at home reading thru your posts.

The Canadian View,
John Martin
