InDesign tip (Javascript)

This is probably a repeat of a thread back in the "old country" ;) but I guess we have to populate the new one and I don't feel like looking at the old one anylonger so...
There's a handy script which populates a multipage document from a pultipage PDF.

Pull down menu:
Window / Automation / Scripts

OR Opt-Cmd-F11 to open pallete then select "place multiple page PDF.jsx" and violá, it makes the [pages w/ the PDFs placed, handy if your old workflow won't take PDFs.
There's other good scripts too, check it out.

+borntoprint+ nice to see someone else from the "old country"
Here's one of my many contributions
Until we learn all the ways of the new forum, consider the following a quote from an e-mail message I get from InDesign Mag.

Quick Zoom Shortcuts
I love shortcuts, especially when navigating around my documents.
Here are some of my favorites involving zooming in and out.
* Command-Shift-5 highlights the zoom field in the lower-left corner
of the document window. Just type the percentage you want and press
Enter.
* Double-click the Hand tool to fit the spread in the window (or press
Command-Option-zero/Ctrl-Alt-0)
* Double-click the Zoom tool to jump to 100% (or press Command/
Ctrl-1).
* Command/Ctrl-spacebar-click zooms in, Command-Option/Ctrl-
Alt-spacebar-click zooms out.

Editorial Director, "InDesign Magazine," (end quote)

Maybe with Cory on board we can gain back some of the editing controls and subdivide these forums to the individual apps like we did before.

Glad to be here, here's a few more.

*Then this one came the next week*

Align Guides to Objects
Of course, you can align objects to ruler guides. But you can
also align ruler guides to objects. Just select the object and
aim for one of the object's handles as you drag the guideline.
The guideline will snap to the handle

NOTE: In last week's tip, "Quick Zoom Shortcuts," the first bulleted
shortcut is incorrect. To highlight the zoom field in the lower-left
corner of the document window, press Command-Option-5, not
Command-Shift-5. We regret the error.
