Indigo 3500 HDI (2400x2400)

We have a request to print an job on our Indigo but it must be done at 2400x2400. We see that we have a license for what HP refers to as HDI, High Definition Imaging, A.K.A. 2400 x 2400. Does anyone one know how to enable it?

Also can I go with "tiff out" of Apogee Prepress and drop them in an Indigo hotfolder? Or do you configure the RIP to rasterize at 2400 dpi and send it vector pdfs?

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

It's something you have to pay HP to authorize on your press. Probably too expensive for a 1-time deal, but you could call your rep and ask. RE: 2400/2400...sound a bit overzealous and a snidge unclear. All the resoultion in the world doesn't give you the ability to print more than a 230 line screen. (or thereabouts) Maybe I'm wrong, here, but I'd show them a proof sample of what you CAN do and see if it flys. The other option if super resulution is a must is to go with a high end inkjet. If it's too many copies for that, then there you are. Good luck!
