We are looking to upgrade our black production machine from a 1051 to a KM Accurioprint 2100. Everything about it seems like a good fit to us. 100 CPM (52 CPM 12 x 18) and max sheet size 12.76 x 18.23 OR with optional larger tray 12.76 x 19. I like the black print on the KM's. I service the 1051 myself but it has turned into a lot of tail chasing. Frankly, I'm sick of it. I don't have the time to be servicing machines since I'm wearing too many hats as it is. Our color production is a Canon V700 (I know a LOT of you guys poo poo this machine but our color quality has been excellent with ours) and we have no complaints at all but we have found ourselves running more black on it because the KM 1051 is constantly needing something and parts are getting quite scarce. Does anyone here have any experience with this machine?

We've had a KM Accurioprint 2100 for serveral months now and it's a fast and reliable machine. The only problem we've had so far is that paper gets jammed from Tray 1 and not even the tech could find the reason why. He basically told us to use the other trays instead. This is happens even with regular 20 lbs copy paper (mostly hammermill or optimus)

One thing we've noticed with all of our KM machines here is that it tends to be because of the over tightening of the blue thumb screws in the tray. I'm assuming they've kept the same style over the years but I could be wrong.

If you do have the blue thumbscrews try only tightening one side and let the other side hang loose. What I was told is that as the paper is moved up it ends up getting stuck between the two sides and causes a jam. This ended up solving the majority of our tray feeding issues on our 6100, 1070, and 1100.

Two things to be aware of when switching from the 1051 to the 2100 in case they are issues for you....it does not offer vacuum feed, and it cannot print on coated stocks.

I was in the market for a 2100 but realized that you cannot use a fiery. I personally love the command workstation setup where I have logs and queues of jobs since I sometimes print 100+ different documents a day.

The 2100 as it stands needs to be used with the widows print drivers or does it have a KM controller with a log?

It has a KM controller that has a log with queue management very similar to a Fiery. You can access it from the touch screen or from a PC. You can edit/remove pages, adjust the tone curves, and change settings on the job from the touch screen or PC too. See screenshots below from the 2100 brochure.

Oh that’s actually not bad. I thought it was like those older office machines where you’ll just need to print from windows.

Thanks for the info!
