Lead Pressman duties?

Hello all!

We are growing into our own as of late and need to get our Production Manager out of the smaller details in the pressroom. I'm trying to define a set of duties for a Lead Pressman and would like some opinons as to what should be on the list.

My backround is mainly offset but I'm now in a flexo but think the basic duties of a lead would be similar. We are running 6 machines on 1st shift and two on second shift (Mark Andy 830's and 2200"s).

Any help appreciated.

Thanks CJ. I'll use that as a jump point and try to post my list later. Our main problem right now is that the PM doesn't want to give up any control in this newly formed department. The results of his actions are putting other departments in chaos not to mention our own. If it were up to me I would probably can him and hire someone who is able to delegate the tasks needed to free him up.

Good luck.. on that.. its a challenge to get everybody on board.. Usually will have to get management involved in getting it done.. That's easier said than done
