We are looking for a motivated, experienced direct mail leader to assist us with the day-to-day operations of our growing Lettershop.
Activities include managing personalized imaging via inkjet and laser systems, insertion, sortation, card affixing, stamping, tabbing, working closely with the USPS, and ensuring our customers get the best postage rates and service possible.
Must have a minimum 5 to 10 years leadership experience in a similar production environment. A high degree of confidence with and knowledge of postal paperwork requirements is critical. Ability to interface with a wide variety of personalities and balance competing interests will be a key to your success -- from working directly with customers to production employees, sales, operations, customer service and outside parties like the USPS. Broad knowledge of standard presort software programs and their capabilities a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage, schedule, and prioritize daily work, staff and equipment to effectively and efficiently prepare mail.
Identify and recommend education, training, and professional development opportunities for your lettershop staff to ensure we retain a competitive edge in lettershop processes.
Current knowledge of USPS rules and regulations to ensure operations are compliant with ever-changing mail standards. Expert understanding of USPS mail acceptance and mail piece design regulations a must.
Maintain a close and positive working relationship with the USPS to ensure compliance with regulations that may affect operations and customers’ direct mail programs.
Collaborate with all departments to develop and maintain workflow - processes, procedures and training.
Work closely with operations and sales leadership to assess existing and available technologies; and regularly make recommendations for future equipment needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage a broad team of production personnel (currently 10 direct reports, with plans to grow) with responsibility for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance, reward and discipline personnel; address complaints and resolve problems.
