Hi . . . I just got in a boat load of multi page pdfs from a customer and none of them have bleeds and there are a host of other issues. Returning them for correction is not an option - I must find a way to correct them quickly and was wondering what yall thought about the recosoft pdf2id package and the one from markzware pdf2dtp

Any comments will be greatly appreciated

thanks:)

what exactly are the problems? If its got no bleed, just enlarge it by 1% then set the trim box back a bit. I wouldnt go converting a "boat load" of pdfs to indesign, that program works ok, but it is really just a get out of jail card i reckon, ive got it and never bother using it, its either pitstop or quite imposing plus for me.

The idots put type within 3/32 of an inch at the bottom so enlarging it is not an option believe me I tried that . . . without working on it page by page and we are talking at least 100 pages worth of fixes - to top it off the customer doesn't want to pay for the fixes and either refuses or can't fix them. I am having a battle with the sales people trying to explain that we can't fix this stuff for free on a repeat basis - and sales says we have to . . . so I'm looking for the easiest way out . . . .

ok then, just shrink it and put a border around it, no bleed, dont give them the upper hand if they have given you rubbish to work with. I tell ya, if you use that PDFTOID it will take you weeks to fix up a 100 page file.

Could you create an Indesign document with bleed built into the master pages then use the multi-page importer within the scripts window to bring in the pdf?
I've used this as a go around in the past.

Your saying bleed, but what's bleeding? If it's the photos, then you couldn't build a bleed within Indesign

Can you send me some samples of the PDF's and we'll see what PitStop can do for you?

you can send me a link at [email protected] if you don't want to post them publicly.
