LP 82 Ultra Processor Problem

Muddy

We operate a Palladio 30 with a LP 82 Ultra Processing Unit in the last month the amount of finisher it has been using has dramatically increased. It used to take 3-4 weeks to fill the holding tank but now it fills in 3 days. I should add that this has just started to happen in the last few weeks

Something is wrong. Any ideas of where the trouble may lie and a fix for the problem?

Thanks in advance for your help

The obvious reason for an increase in chemical consumption would be a dramatic increase in plate processing as the chemical refreshes depending on the number of plates processed. The refresh rate is set using the maintenance button, the finisher refresh rate is normally set to 100 ml/meter squared. If nobody has been messing with the maintenance parameters, the refresh rate should be still set the same.

I would suspect the more likely problem is the finisher is slowly leaking into the drain circuit. Have you checked to make sure the drain valves for the rinse and finisher tanks are fully closed in the horizontal position? It could also be a bad seal somewhere in the finishing circuit. To verify if it is indeed leaking, open the covers after the processor has been off for a number of hours, or over the weekend. If the level of the rinse or finisher tank is low before turning the processor on, that would suggest a slow leak and the processor automatically tops up the tanks when the level dips below the sensors. Hope this helps.
