making image bigger.

one of the units on our speedmaster is printing smaller side to side has anyone got any tips on how we can make it bigger. We have tried packing the imp cylinder but that just made the image front to back bigger. (to big)

Would that be the first unit?
Is it on all jobs, or just this one job?
What is the paper grain direction?

3rd unit, all jobs the same, long grain paper.

Perhaps the press needs a gripper adjustment by a qualified serviceman.

Is it an older heidelberg press by any chance? Sometimes you can correct this issue if its happening on the tail of the sheet by adjusting the compensator. If your not familiar with this adjustment its a small cam right in the center of the ranger drum. This can be adjusted to control fan out on the tail of the sheet. The biggest problem is that very often you find that press operators will move this adjustment and not put it back to its zero position which winds up wearing it out.

Check back cylinder make sure its not picture framed from old ink
