Meta's "TIFF_Export" outputs differently than plate/proof?

We are using the TIFF_Export "device" in MetaDimension 6.5 to create TIFF files of our post-RIP output for various purposes (one of them being for calculating ink usage).

We noticed today that it does not output the same way as our plate or proof output plans. For instance, files with black overprint text that output & preview correctly in the proofer or platesetter devices show up as 4-color black in the TIFF_Export preview/output. We have Color Matching turned off, so it should not be converting color or re-separating the file.

Does TIFF_Export use a different interpreter than proofing/plating?

Turns out we had "Postscript-Colormanagement" set to "Apply," which differs from our Plate & Proofer output plans. That should teach me to make sure everything is set to the same settings... :)
