Anyone use this program know how to do IMB barcodes for USPS mailings?

the only response i get back from them is to use USPS OneCode but it wont generate a barcode using the IMB encode field that is generated in the excel file that i usually use with other programs.

Hi Tonez,

I use the USPSIMBStandard font to produce IMB barcodes in Montax. The catch is, there are only 4 glyphs in the font's character map and they are all uppercase letters so your mailing software will need to be able to generate the IMB data as such. Here is a sample of what the data looks like from my mailing software (BCC Mail Manager):

The other thing to note is that the above text MUST be 16pt for it to pass USPS muster. The font can be downloaded from here:

Best regards,

Ok i think i just need to download the font, all my other software seems to have it incorporated in the software.
After the mailing software outputs the excel file, it produces 2 fields the 31 digit number barcode and the 65 letter imb encoded field like what you have above and that's what i usually use when creating the barcode.

Thanks.

PPD is correct on the point size. Just be careful.

The way DMM reads, the IMB must be 22 bars per square inch, plus or minus 2 bars per square inch, when measured over any one-half inch.

That's just a complicated way of saying measure a half inch on your bar code and count the bars. If your count is 10, 11 or 12 you are good.
