Oce 6250 laser printer

Has anyone out there used an Oce 6250 laser printer? Anyone in a direct mail environment?
If so how well did it work?
Did you have any problems with the toner leaving marks? Did you have any difficulty with registration, paper handling, or preprinted forms?

Assuming you mean the Varioprint 6250 (which uses an LED printhead, not laser) I can say that as long as the machine is run and maintained adequately, it's a top notch device. Because it's 2 print engines in one, the registration is more accurate than you'll see on just about any comparable printer.

If you take nothing else from this note though, *always* make sure preprinted stock is in a drawer designated for such. The paper path for preprinted bypasses the engine completely. Because of the heat needed for instant duplex/offset printing, stock with logos or letterhead will leave traces of ink/toner behind which will foul the preheat plates in the paper path and kill a registration motor.

Seriously tho - it's a sweet machine.
