I have worked for small printers for over 25 years and this is the first OSHA audit I have been a part of. Funny we all fear this inspection however the guy that showed up here was as nice as could be. After two hours he left and there were no charges. The biggest issue was our Rights to know training was last done 18 months ago and we were close to being sited on this. I think if you do the paper work like a safety training manual, MSDS, accident forms, forklift training and aware documents the inspection is pretty straight forward. If you do not have these documents the inspection could get ugly. He took a few people aside and asked questions and our employees did a good job answering correctly. We use a service called Printers in Minnesota and they prepared us for this inspection and I feel that money was well spent.
