Over the past 2 years, the IDEAlliance SWOP Committee has been pressed to define the acceptable "quality" for real-world proof production. Obviously the tight numeric tolerances required to pass SWOP Proofing System Certification are unrealistic for those producing proofs daily in a production environment. The proofing study is designed to help us determine real-world tolerances. Your participation will give you the opportunity to contribute to industry research that will help drive proofing quality standards. Each participant will be recognized during the presentation at the Spectrum360 Conference. In addition, the participants will receive an individualized proofing quality report card. This report card will track the participant's proofing quality numerically over the 3 months of the study. An "average" of the participant's proofing quality will also be provided along with the "average" for the industry and for your industry sector. This will enable each participant to judge their proofing quality against the norm for the industry and against your industry sector (agency/creative, premedia, printer, publisher, systems vendor, other).
You can participate free of charge. Details of the study can be viewed by playing the webinar linked to www.swop.org.
