pdf's from Quark

Hi,

We have been using Nexus total pdf for the last couple of years. Back when it was installed we were told to export a pdf from InDesign and make a postscript from Quark and use acrobat distiller to make a pdf. I don't remember why they told us to make a ps file then distill it but I’ve been getting some problems lately from the ps files from quark ie: rules around boxes that shouldn’t be there. If I export a pdf from Quark everything is ok. I’m just wondering if anybody else has this problem and how they are making there pdf’s from Quark.

Thanks

Hi Dauby,
If I remember right - WAY back when... you had to save quark to ps as you didn't have the pdf option. I always use pdf now and skip the ps step without any problems.

You can also create PDF via the Print dialog in Quark. The Acrobat PPD is available from there.

I am not sure if it makes any difference so far as you use the appropriate ppd and set the appropriate job options settings in the settings dialog box from within the concerned application (indesign / quark).
Please correct me if I am wrong in my thoughts...
