Plate Clamp Adjustment

I'm running a 92 Heidelberg CD. All of the other Heidelbergs I've ran had auto loading, so I've never had to adjust the old manual clamps. In one unit, the right edge (center of press) of the drive side half of the tail clamp is slipping. What is the methodology to adjust the clamp so it grabs, without messing up the bite for the rest of the clamp. Any tips or tricks appreciated. Thanks.

Cut strips of plate material, insert pieces across the clamp, rotate eccentric and pull out pieces. Judge which areas are to heavy/ to light and determine which adjusting screws need to be turned in/backed out. Loosen 3mm allen locking set screw above each of the adjusting screws and change as needed. Test with new strips and lock set screws when finished. Many time, the adjusting screws are bent so when you turn them they do a sort of cam action, if this is noticed, new adjusting screws may be required. Not a simple job, clamp must be removed because the threads are peened over and you can back them out - you have to grind the peen off. This is it in a nutshell, maybe more to it, like the eccentric rod and or the gutter it rides iin may be worn out. That's a whole different ballgame. Good Luck, Scoot

Thanks Junker. I'm hoping that it just needs adjustment. I've noticed that in in some units, when you rotate the eccentric, one side is tight, the other side is loose. But, the plates weren't slipping so I let it go. Now, the one tail clamp is slipping on (center of press) side and the tightening bolt above it is loose after a few thousand impressions.
