Plate developer machine and hard water issue

Hello there!

What if you - like me - live in a VERY hard water area and have to deal with your CTP plates?
The problem is deposits on the rinse machine.
We already have some decalcifying stuff but it's not enough!
What about put some kind of anti limescale into the rinse water close cirquit?
I'm thinking about vinegar...
Could it really be too bad for the plates?

Question: 1) Are you having " On Press Plate troubles" if so what are they ??


2) the use of "Vinegar" NO and 3) Use Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment.

No issues on the plates, only in the machine (limescale deposit).
We already Use Reverse Osmosis Water Treatment but apparently it's not enough.

Why not some acid pouring in the rinse water?

Rent a DI unit for a couple of months and see if that helps

A home use water softening system e.g. ion-exchange should work. Look for a medium size one to supply enough water volume for your machine. Don't bother about extra sodium into your rinse water it's ok for plates. Monthly cost of consumable resins and salts is reasonably low.
