Prepaid Calling cards

Hi,

We're a calling card company based in Mexico. So far we have had our card printing outsourced but few weeks ago caught them stealing PINs.

Hence we've decided to start printing the cards inhouse.

Problem is that we cannot find correct printers and that’s why I’m writing here.
This is what we are looking for:

Printing volume : 5K cards / day, single side as they will be preprinted in front and cut to the right size
Card Size: Credit card size
Card Material : Cardboard or plastified carton (PVC is too expensive)
Card Feeder for 100+ cards
Printing just black, no necessarily need for color.
Every card has got a unique PIN and sequence number so the printer needs to read the info from a database (excel, SQL, etc)
Need to be able to print scratch off as well.

We have tried Zebra P3330 I but it couldn’t print on plastified paper.

There must be printers like that in the market 'cos the b...ds who were printing our cards earlier (+ stealing our PINs) were using some small, half manual, printer. The quality was acceptable and that what we are looking for as well.

What do you recommend us?

Any of the digital presses being sold today (HP Indigo, Xerox iGen, Kodak NexPress, Konica-Minolta) can do what you're wanting to do, with some limitations on the thickness of the substrate. At 5,000 cards/day it could be difficult to justify the expense, though. You would also need finishing equipment - cutter, die cutter, round cornering machine are some possibilities.

How about the smaller ones, like Zebra, Pebble4? Those would be good for us, the only problem is they only work with PVC.

I won't be needing cutting or any other equipments, in fact we will get the cards preprinted and cut to the size, so all I need to do is print the PINs, sequence numbers and the scratch off.

Are there any less automatic machines? Remenber, we are in Mexico and the manual work is cheap over here.
