Preps stand alone support

My impression is if you don't have the entire Prinergy package, Kodak really isn't interested in supporting your Preps purchase. Apple is up to OS X 10.10. The latest version of Adobe CC requires OS X 10.9 yet Preps with a dongle will only work with OS X 10.8. And no word of any plans to fix that compatibility. Does anyone know if this is the case? Despite my company owning $15,000 worth of Preps software it is appearing if we want to stay up with Adobe as well as buy new Macs to replace the ones that are getting long in the tooth, we will have to drop Preps as our imposition software and find something else. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

No that is not correct. Kodak has done away with dongle in the latest release. Preps 7.1.4 is made specifically as a dongleless installation and does not require Prinergy.

From the Release notes which is also attached in full.

Licenses for Preps 7.1.4 (standalone software)
Preps 7.1.4 requires a Preps 7.x license key and can be licensed as a
standalone application in two ways, using:
● the new software-based licensing
● Prinergy's floating license manager (FLIM)
The software-based licensing in Preps 7.1.2 and 7.1.4 replaces the
previously used dongle-based licensing. Follow the instructions in the
Licensing section to replace your dongle-based license with a software
license or to activate your freshly-installed Preps 7.1.4 standalone
software.
To convert a software-based Preps license to a Prinergy floating
license, you must upgrade to the minimum version supported by
Prinergy before converting the license. Floating licenses provide
additional flexibility by allowing a seamless transfer of licenses
between workstations.
