pressure, tension, TAC and paper in Heatset Web Offset Machine.

Hi Everyone,

have been trying to figure this out...

Standart WEB Heatset press with 4/4, (blanket cylinders are with gap) with a dryer is starting production.

at 1500 iph infeed increases tension between infeed and Chill rollers to a pre determined value. all ink/water rollers and impression are coming on and machine is starting to print.

Does changing infeed tension during impression ON affects tension all the way to chillrollers? There one position where paper can pass freely through, allthough impression is on, blanket gap meeting point.

Im tryin to understand what happens to a paper, starting from reel to a folder.

Web enters first unit, impression gets squeezed on the web making it wider,(also narrower?) next unit does the same but then widening web with the first units impression
so Ill have to compensate it with compensation wheels.

It also seeems that when tehere is high inc covarage (TAC) web widening is minimaized on the next unit, something similar happens when adding/removing water, increasing tension either on chillroll side or infeed side.

sorry if spelling is off
maybe someone can clarify this to me

Thanks in advance
Ron
