It exists. Contact your local HD or ask here, if certain printer is supported.

I guess my point is why not make a list freely available and then we could easily buy a proofer that would work. rather than finding a good price and asking if it works. finding out it doesn't looking for another one. asking again.

In the back of the printed manual for your Meta RIP is a complete list of all ink and laser printers that are supported. They provide an updated manual in the big-box-O-Heidelberg stuff for every version update.

The very latest models are not usually supported (like the 9880 doesn't work in Meta 6.5 at last check).
