Ptr 4300S Transfer Path problem

When a plate is loaded on the ptr 4300 the transfer path would go halfway down stop and push the plate into the side alignment bar below the register punch. When the sensors start centering the plate the transfer path would very slowly continue going down, forcing the plate out of the punch bar by bending the side of the plate before the punching process takes place.
What adjustments can I make to stop the transfer path from moving down until the punching process is complete & the plate is drawn back into the transfer path.
By opening the home side door & when the transfer path makes a stop we put an upward resistance by hand to the side of the transfer path for 2 seconds the machine will work perfectly.

maybe the problem is with the pressure springs (home and away side) who keep the transfer path up
