Quick look helper

anyone ever have issues with quick look helper, my Mac has been lagging constantly. when i open the Activity monitor i noticed that "quick look helper" climbs to the top and uses all my real memory and cpu usage and will not allow anything else to run. i force quit the process and it will come back again and again. I re-loaded system software and the same problem is happening.
Imac 3.1 ghz Intel core i5 running 10.7.4.
any help is appreciated.

Lots of discussion out on the web about this issue. Seems video formats come up a lot. You can turn off the process, or limit what file types it creates a preview for.
