First time poster. Having a problem finding out how to replace the right hand side clamp connecting rod.

The Clamp Connecting Rods connect the Clamp to the Angle Levers (2 rods and 2 angle levers).

Our “right side” connecting rod needs to be replaced.

Has anyone had the ”thrilling“ adventure of replacing the “right side“ connecting rod?

The part that looks like a human bone with donuts at each end.

Can’t figure out how to remove the top part of the rod from the clamp (attached to the clamp).

And I’m guessing that removing the set screw on the bottom of the connecting rod (lower part that is connected to the angle lever) and removing the pin that hold the both parts together will allow the lower part to be freed.

Appeciate any insights that you may have.

Thank you.

Are you talking the two bolt looking things? They are special safety bolts and are easy to replace. They hold the two arms together. There is a rod with a point on it that is there basically for alignment.

Took a trip on the wild side and figured it out. The cutter had a connecting rod with an oval shaped hole to connect the rod to the "angle lever."

Anybody have any idea for making it easy to align the connecting rod pins so that the small locking screws align with then notches on the connecting rod pins.

Right now, the idea removing pins so that I mark the pins so that alignment becomes easy is a day long adventure.

Any secrets to be found from those that have replaced their connecting rods?

Do you have the two handles for the clutch? These two handles screw into the clutch face and when you tighten them in it pulls a clutch face to the flywheel then you can rotate the flywheel around and align those two halves together so you can put the sheer bolts in. You might have to manually pull out the safety bolt in the back of the machine to allow it to do a cycle. Bring the knife bar back up to home when done
REMEMBER to remove the handles before you power up or you'll snap the shear bolts again!!!!
