Ricoh Aficio SP C820CN or Xerox Phaser 7500

My wife needs a tabloid color laser for her graphic design studio.
I estimate <20,000 pages/year, but about half of them with color coverage above 50%.
Print quality is the most important criterion, hassle-free operation comes next, cost of consumables third (also because of low volume).

After reviewing the options I am down to a
a.) Ricoh Aficio SP C820CN or a
b.) Xerox Phaser 7500DT (apparently also sold as a Dell 7130cdn).

From the specs I can compare things like these:
1. The unit cost is app. the same.
2. Both are about 1.5 years on the market.
3. Both have Adobe PS3.
2. The toner for the Xerox is much more expensive
(2.5 x for color and a whopping 6 x for black)
3. The Ricoh is 40 lbs heavier.

But how is the print quality?
Is color calibration easy/tricky?
Xerox claims Pantone approved colors, Ricoh is vague about it.

I got some samples form a C820DN which show some color banding. Is that typical?
At ReviewXX7500 they claim the opposite (banding on the 7500).

Does anybody here know both these models? Any insight is appreciated.
Thank you!

P.S. I would not bother this expert forum if I had found some in-depth reviews but there is little out there in this category.
