If you are looking for an opportunity with a growing company where your skills and hard work will allow you to excel, then Magnum Magnetics may have a position for you. We are a world leader in magnetic products looking to hire a driven, successful Sales Engineer (Large Commercial Print).

In this role, the successful candidate will focus on securing new business through skilled prospecting and follow-up, networking, cold calling and trade shows. Duties include developing competitive market intelligence, evaluation of product lines and travel to accounts and prospects, while maintaining focus on achieving profitable sales targets. This person will be a recognized industry expert.

The successful candidate must have three years minimum experience selling directly into the Large Commercial Print Market. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Communications or related field required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
• Prospects for new business.
• Sets appointments and calls on customers at the decision-maker level; Senior Buyer, Buyer, Assistant Buyer and purchasing manager level.
• Thorough understanding of the Large Commercial Print industry dynamics, qualifying customer’s applications and needs.
• Utilizes value added selling by applying questioning techniques to uncover customer needs.
• Sells within a competitive environment.
• Travels to visit customers and prospects on a regular basis (30-40% of time on average), providing technical expertise, product development and growth opportunities.
• Documents customer and prospect contacts on a weekly basis within provided automation programs.
• Attends industry trade shows and selected market buyer/seller collaborative events as needed.
• Provides quotes to prospects and customers as needed within our acceptable profit parameters.
• Manages, grows, and projects sales dollars within market responsibility.
• Performs project work such as Customer Competitive Analysis.
• Applies and adheres to prescribed selling techniques to grow new and existing accounts.
• Performs administrative functions for existing customers when necessary.
• Maintains current with technology, market trends, product needs and development.
• Uses all automation systems provided to enhance selling, prospecting, and tracking.
• Identifies, qualifies and follows up on leads in a timely manner.
• Gather Voice of customer data to support new product development and product improvement.
• Communicate Sales activity/forecasting on a monthly basis with management/production.
• Performs other duties assigned by management.

Requirements:
• Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong technical industry experience within the Large Commercial Print market.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills; ability to establish and maintain rapport with customer.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, both internal and external.
• Self motivated; ability to make required number of prospect contacts each day.
• Strong problem solving skills to value add sell in a competitive environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
• Highly organized with effective time management skills for scheduling time and maintaining contact with prospects during potentially longer selling cycles (3-6 months).
• Good questioning skills that enable the candidate to accurately identify customer needs.
• Strong computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project); and associated professional software.
• Ability to develop and conduct product training presentations to both internal and external groups using PowerPoint and other presentation techniques.
• Proven experience at selling directly into specific Market.
• Ability to focus on specific sales and profit goals.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed, including overnight travel as required.
